Teaching Factory (TEFA) is a school workshop that operates like a small real factory. Students produce actual products for real customers, so they learn job skills, work safety, and how to run a business before they graduate. In Visual Communication Design class is run a small Teaching Factory, students take real orders like T-Shirt Design, banner designs, pin creation and more from brief to final file, print on the school printer, sell the finished product, and use the money to buy more ink and paper, so by graduation they already have real works in their portfolio, know how to meet clients and deadlines, and are ready to work in any print shop or start their own design service.
There are many tools that we can use in Teaching Factory. The tools include Computer, Heat press Machine, 3D Printer Machine, Acrylic Laser Cut Machine, Multifunction Printer. The first tool is Computer, computer is a tool to instal and use Design Application like Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, etc. We use Computer to make a design, to print a model in an Acrylic Laser Cut Machine, and printing poster. Heat Press Machine, we use that to put the design on the blank T-Shirt. It uses electric power to heat the panel and press the design on the T-Shirt. 3D Printer Machine, it is a machine that used to print 3D object from a model that we design at 3D design maker application. This printer use filament to create the object. Acrylic Laser Cut Machine, this machine use to cut an Acrylic or something else like that, using a high powered, highly accurate and focused laser beam. The last one is Multifunctional Printer. This printer can print a plain paper and premium glossy paper with a very high resolution, you can print your design, poster, photos, etc.
